What rebates are available?

SVCE rebates are available for single-family homes, mobile or manufactured homes, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), and multi-family homes (4 dwelling units or fewer) swapping out existing equipment, not for completely new building construction. Each dwelling unit is eligible for one rebate per appliance type. See the Participant Agreement for more details and the Appliance Specifications to confirm your project is eligible. 

Core Rebates

SVCE will award rebates up to the dollar amounts described below. Rebates are not to exceed project costs. If you are a customer from Milpitas or Mountain View, you can find your core rebate amounts on the Milpitas + Mountain View tab.

Extra Rebate Amounts for Milpitas Customers

Customers of Milpitas can receive higher rebates for certain equipment. The extra incentives (on top of SVCE’s standard rebates) come from funding from these cities. To simplify your journey, you receive these extra rebates automatically by going through SVCE’s program and completing the standard application; no extra steps are required.

SVCE will award rebates up to the dollar amounts described below. Rebates are not to exceed project costs. The amounts below are the total amounts of the SVCE and city rebates combined.

Mountain View’s extra rebate amount for Heat Pump Water Heaters is fully subscribed and not accepting new reservations. Silicon Valley Clean Energy will manage existing reservations and may reassign funds if canceled. The Home Rebates Programs remains available for residents.

How it works

To begin, please select one of the rebate applications below. Make sure to review the Income Qualifications to determine which application is right for you.

Once your eligibility is confirmed, you’ll schedule your complimentary in-home assessment. An Energy Advisor from our trusted partner, Franklin Energy, will visit your home and create a custom proposal that includes bill savings potential and available rebates and incentives.

Standard Incentives

If you qualify for standard incentive amounts, click button to apply. If your project is approved, you'll get an email confirming your rebate reservation and a link to the claim form to complete after finishing your project.

What’s next?

If approved, your rebate will be reserved for up to 120 days, but it must be approved before installing your appliance. For emergency replacements made without prior application, please contact us at Programs@svcleanenergy.org for assistance with eligibility.

Income-Qualified Incentives

SVCE’s Home Rebates program provides increased rebates for income-qualified customers who meet specific criteria, such as enrollment in the CARE or FERA programs, another income-qualified program, or proof of qualifying income. Check the Income Qualifications and Appliance Specifications to determine your eligibility and rebate amount.

  • Contractor: Find a contractor and receive quotes automatically through our Assisted Home Upgrades pilot program, which also helps complete your rebate application and stack other incentives. You are free to use any licensed contractor of your choice and still qualify for the SVCE rebate. DIY projects are eligible as well; just ensure they are properly permitted
  • Equipment: Review the SVCE Appliance Specifications to learn about the program guidelines and ensure your appliance is eligible for a rebate. Use the Appliance Marketplace to shop for efficient electric equipment or visit your own retailer of choice. To help you make a more informed decision on your project, click here to see how much customers are paying on average for Heat Pump Water Heater and HVAC installations.
  • Permitting: Make sure to apply for the right building permits with your city or county. Your contractor can help with the permitting process too.
  • Gas meter removal: To make modifications to your gas service, please contact PG&E at 1-877-743-7782 or file an application at www.pge.com/newconstruction 

After completing your appliance upgrade and receiving your permit approval,

You will be asked to provide photos of your newly installed equipment and proof of project costs, including itemized descriptions and costs for each wired circuit, if applicable. You may also need to submit permit document(s) and proof of gas meter removal.

After submitting the Rebate Claim, you will receive an email notification that we have received it. We will then issue the rebate and mail it to you or to your contractor, whichever is your preference. Please note that it takes approximately four weeks for rebate checks to arrive in the mail.
