Silicon Valley Clean Energy is the community electricity provider for Gilroy and a proud sponsor of the Gilroy La Ofrenda Festival. As a community energy provider, we supply electricity from clean and renewable sources at competitive rates and reinvest net revenues back into our communities. This includes offers and services such as rebates to help customers reduce pollution by going electric and funding environmental education and outreach initiatives.

Our SV Clean Energy Ofrenda serves to honor key figures in the clean energy movement, making space to acknowledge the impact of their tenacity and innovation for the global fight for a better, pollution-free future.

Eunice was an American scientist who discovered the greenhouse effect that occurs as certain gasses, such as carbon dioxide, are heated by sunlight. Her work demonstrated the need to move towards clean energy, more than 100 years ago!

William was an American inventor credited with the creation of the first electric vehicle back in 1891. He paved the way for greener transportation with a battery powered wagon that reached a top speed of 14 mph.
