Education Nonprofit Grant Program
The Education Nonprofit Grant Program is a $100,000 pilot program that offers funding to education-focused nonprofit organizations that support youth and educators. With this grant, we are expanding engagement opportunities for nonprofits that work with elementary, middle, high school and community college students on climate change solutions while incorporating the SVCE mission.
Eligibility
Applicant must be one of the thirteen SVCE member agencies.
Nonprofit organizations that serve kindergarten-community college youth.
Organization must be within the SVCE area: Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Saratoga, Sunnyvale and unincorporated Santa Clara County communities.
Project examples include, but are not limited to:

Funding
SVCE anticipates allocating $100,000 annually to the Grant Program, subject to approval of the SVCE Board. Funding will be distributed based on the evaluation criteria at SVCE’s sole discretion, and may range in awarded amounts based on the potential reach and impact from each applicant.
- Funding may be used for resources, materials, supplies, equipment, transportation, technology and other SVCE approved costs for the selected project, competition or event.
- Grant funds cannot be used to pay indirect costs, administration fees, salaries, applicant stipends or be used for any political or lobbying purposes.
- Funding will be paid to an organization, agency, school, or company, NOT to an individual.
- SVCE will determine the funding allocation timeline for each project separately as project needs differ.
- Grant Program recipients will be required to submit an accounting of funds or purchase list to SVCE after the completion of the project.
- If there are unused funds after the completion of the project, recipients will be required to return unused funds to SVCE.

Submission
Please send email application materials to Ashlie Pak, ashlie.pak@svcleanenergy.org, with the subject line “Education Nonprofit Grant Application.” All application materials are due by Friday, March 7, 2025.
Complete applications must include:
- Narrative (up to 5 pages)

- Name of organization, address of local office(s), and email and phone number for your main point of contact. If your organization is a nonprofit but not registered with 501(c)(3) status, please provide this information for your organizational fiscal sponsor as well. Note additional required attachments for fiscally sponsored projects.
- Detailed description of proposed project including:
- Amount requested
- Communities served by your organization and approximate demographics of your audience
- Grant program SMART goals and areas of focus
- Detailed strategy and tactics to address these goals and audience(s)
- Brief summary of your organization’s history and demonstrated capacity to implement your proposed work plan. Please provide quantitative measures of outreach capacity. Specific measures related to our target audiences outlined above are appreciated.
