Mobile all-electric showroom recognized by the California Association of Public Information Officials
Sunnyvale, CA — Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE), won an Excellence in Public Information and Communications (EPIC) Award for its Dream Home – an electric appliance showroom. The EPIC Awards are presented by the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) to honor outstanding public agency information and communications programs.
CAPIO is the leading statewide organization designed for public sector communicators. Members from all facets of civil service, including counties, cities, water districts, special districts and beyond, join together annually to share best practices in public communications and honor exceptional initiatives. CAPIO received over 500 program entries this year with the EPIC award being the highest distinction in each category. SVCE also received two Certificates of Excellence for a community ribbon-cutting ceremony and rebate marketing campaign.
“We are proud that the work we are doing is recognized as a leader in the state. Silicon Valley Clean Energy encourages our staff to come up with big, bold ideas that help advance our mission,” said Monica Padilla, SVCE CEO. “The Dream Home is a great example of how we strive to find innovative ways to connect our customers with the resources to help with their energy needs.”

The award-winning Dream Home is an 18 x 8-foot interactive showroom that residents can tour to see and experience the all-electric equipment in an environment not unlike their own home. Designed to demonstrate the “dream” reality of energy-efficient and zero-emission appliances, the Dream Home features equipment such as a heat pump water heater and HVAC, induction cooktop, electric fireplace, and more.
The Dream Home can be found at local Earth Day-themed community events throughout Santa Clara County in April.
